Schedule a heater inspection now to avoid a heater breakdown when you are using it. If your heater is doing any of the following things, it needs to be repaired. We would be happy to inspect your heater to ensure it is safe and reliable for you and your family.
Cold Air
If the heater is blowing cold air instead of hot air, it needs to be repaired. The heater should easily heat your house to the temperature indicated on the thermostat. If your house feels cold, even with the heater running, you’ve got a heater problem that needs immediate attention.
Yellow Flame
Perhaps you went to the heating unit to see if the pilot was lit. It was, but the flame was yellow. When this is the case, you, your family, and your pets need to leave the home right away. A yellow pilot flame is a sign that the heater is releasing carbon monoxide. The flame should always be blue.
Strong Odors
Another sign that the heater needs to be repaired is strong odors coming out of the vents or around the heating unit. You will smell a strong odor the first time you run the heater each year. This odor is temporary. If you smell strange, unpleasant odors all the time, turn off the heater and call us.
Strange Noises
You should never hear strange noises coming from the heater. You shouldn’t hear banging, clunking, squealing, hissing, or any other odd sound. If your heater is making strange noises, treat it like you would a strange odor: Turn off the heater and call us for the professional help your heater needs.
Constant Cycling
You know how often your heater turns on and off. If this increases and the heater cycles (turns on and off) constantly, you’ve got a problem. The heater should be able to heat the home to your desired temperature and shut off until the temperature drops inside. Constant cycling can be a problem with the heater itself or the thermostat and its communication with the heating unit.
ncreased Bill
We all expect a slight increase in our heating bill each year because the utility company raises its rates. If your bill is exceptionally high, however, there’s a problem with the heater. This can be a sign that the heater needs to be repaired or replaced. It is not operating efficiently anymore.
We are the heater repair company in the area, so call us today if you are having problems with your heater or if it’s time for the heater’s annual inspection.
